A little mud, a little blood, a lot of sweat

I couldn’t have asked for a better day to explore a new loop at Mt. Toby. The trails were dry, except for a few spots were the spring runoff was still active. I also ended up with my usual assortment of nicks and scrapes. There was a little hike-a-bike, but most of the time was spent in the saddle. Slogging up to the fire tower, and then flying back down. I was also very considerate, and left a message for Karen at her place of employment, letting her know the riding at Toby was awesome today. What a friend I am, eh? Heather

Ride stats:

Distance: 12.1
Temperature: 76˚
Elevation: According to the book I got at the library, maximum vertical gain was 1000 ft
Ride category: Mountain biking at last!

Thanks for leaving that message while I was in yet another closed door meeting. You amused the staff member profoundly, who I think enjoyed someone openly teasing the boss (and being able to get away with it).
