The one I didn’t get

About a mile into my ride I came across the perfect winter scene. There standing in the middle of the road was a deer, maybe a 100 feet in front of me, snow coming down all around us. I tried to brake quickly, and quietly, but no luck. The deer saw me and took off into the woods. If I had had my usual setup, Olympus 720sw and gorillapod, I might have been in business. I just had to chuckle as I jumped back on the DB and continued on. Today I lugged my Panasonic around in a pannier. I hate not having photos for my posts, especially for my rides. Getting off the bike to get the camera, take my shots, and then package it all back up again made me appreciate the usual setup even more. It also helped me decide what to purchase next for bicycle gear…winter cycling boots.
